Guest guest
Hi all! I have been quietly lurking reading everyone's experiences for close to 2 years now. It took that long to be able to see an oral surgeon. Gotta love insurance. They bounced me to a different dentist for him to say, yep, your bite is messed up. He actually said that! Now, I don't have a big VISIBLE issue. I have a crossbite that is Class III in one area and Class II. It has gotten progressively worse. It aggravates my TMJ severely. The Oral Surgeon confirmed the need for a SARPE and I have a consult to go back to my ortho who I haven't seen in over a year now on October 5th. This has been so long in the making and I am glad it is progressing, but in the meantime my partner and I have started trying to start a family, which makes the logistics of this kind of difficult. BUT, I don't want to give up because it has taken so long to get here. So we are going to see what the ortho says and hopefully get braces on pretty soon. We still have to wait for the final ok from my insurance company on the surgery before we can put the braces on, and that should come mid October. I am scared, but I was told by my ortho that this will only get worse and since I am relatively young (!! 30 !!) then I should do it because I don't want to be 20 years older and trying to do it then. It's nice to see how many people have had such success with this. I am a pretty good patient, tend not to swell too much and have a high pain tolerance so I'm not worried about that. I guess the unknown is what scares me the most. I guess I just want to say thanks for your stories so far and keep em coming. I hope all of you are doing well.
