Trimming posts

Neither the group members nor the moderators seem to be worried about trimming

posts when replying. I know that sometimes you need the full contexts, but it's

taking forever to scroll through to find new messages.

All you do is select and delete the old info, keeping the text you feel is

pertinent to your response. I've noticed lots of " fat " posts on this list

too.....it generally is a big no-no on mailing lists as it causes bloat.

All you do is select and delete the old info, keeping the text you feel is

pertinent to your response. I've noticed lots of " fat " posts on this list

too.....it generally is a big no-no on mailing lists as it causes bloat.

It is one way to be polite on a mailing list. Given that we have a lot of

people new to the net, and also a lot of people using web based email

programs that make trimming more effort, we are doing ok-ish. Still it

really would be nice for us all if posts were trimmed to just the

necessary text.
