Guest guest
Neither the group members nor the moderators seem to be worried about trimming posts when replying. I know that sometimes you need the full contexts, but it's taking forever to scroll through to find new messages. Guest guest
All you do is select and delete the old info, keeping the text you feel is pertinent to your response. I've noticed lots of " fat " posts on this list too.....it generally is a big no-no on mailing lists as it causes bloat. carrie on 7/12/02 3:51 PM, emrauback@... at emrauback@... wrote: > I agree, is there some way to get the new posts without attaching all the > old stuff.? > When I reply the old posts are not attached, but I get my posts in digest > form. I think that is the difference. It is one way to be polite on a mailing list. Given that we have a lot of people new to the net, and also a lot of people using web based email programs that make trimming more effort, we are doing ok-ish. Still it really would be nice for us all if posts were trimmed to just the necessary text. cheers, davidp. -- Pascoe, mailto:dp@..., Western Australia
