Guest guest
Woohoo! That's great news! Congrats on being able to eat normally again, I can't wait until I can do the same. I feel like my jaw is moving backwards again too, but I think it's a result of the new orthodontic bands and arch wire. I'm trying to not worry about it too much as I still have a long ways to go. ~Jen > Hi everybody! Well, I just had my 3 week post-op visit with my OS. > Everything went well. Guest guest
Jen, Well, the chewing thing is good, but it's not by any means normal. I guess that I never realized how much you use your check muscles when you eat. I kept chewing them! The other problem I had was food getting lost in the back, especially since I can't feel much of my lower jaw. I guess practice will make perfect, I just never thought I'd have to say that about eating food!! I'm not worrying too much about my jaw slipping back either. It's nowhere near what it was (it's maybe a 1-2 mm overbite now, was 8- 9). I know my ortho will be able to work with it and give me a stable bite. I was never looking for perfection out of this, just something functional and a little bit closer to normal! Hope you get the go-ahead to chew soon, and good luck with it when you do, you'll see what I mean, I'm sure! Kim > > Hi everybody!
