Guest guest
Hi everybody! Well, I just had my 3 week post-op visit with my OS. Everything went well. He pulled out some of the stitches that were bothering me. Explained what this pesky white spot on my gums is from (he said it's either a scar from the stitches or there's still a piece of the stitch in there, which will dissolve). And, the best part, told me I can eat normal foods. I am supposed to avoid really chewy stuff and things that I am not allowed to eat anyway (my orthodontist has a mile long list of foods tht I can't have). But I'm allowed to chew again, so that's good news. I also had my bands removed, no more rubberbands for me (at least for 3 weeks until I see my ortho again). My jaw has moved back a bit from where it should be, but the OS said that the braces should fix any remaining overbite (he said there are still some spaces in my upper teeth, I don't see them, but if he says so). So, I'm basically through the surgery part of fixing my teeth. It was much better than I had anticipated. The only really hard part was the first three or four days. I hope everybody else out there is doing good too! Kim
