Guest guest
I agree with the statement Tracey posted. The psychiatrist told my surgeon 3 days before surgery that I was bulemic and that she wanted me to undergo psychotherapy for six months. I flipped out on her, spoke to the Dr about it several times. When we were in the room chatting I explained to her that I had thrown up quite a few times throughout my life due to a hiatal hernia and GERD. It was releif from the PAIN in my chest. She couldn't get it. Nevertheless, I had the surgery and when I went into the surgeons office last week the 1st question he asked me was..... How many times have I forced myself to throw up since the surgery. Of course my answer was none. He smiled and winked at me. Sometimes people just don't understand. I would be very careful with what you say to the therapist. They don't understand the same medical conditions as a doctor would. My 2 cents. ~Mandy Post Op Lap RNY w/ Gallbladder Removal December 2, 2003 333/292/175 Dr. Herron Mercy Medical Center, NY Yeah, the psych test is crazy...lol. I had to take it too. They called me back in a couple days later and told me I am neurotic. That's just silly. Trying to get more money out of me is what I think. You tell me who doesnt have the symptoms of being neurotic. lol.
