Guest guest
It depends on what your having done, upper/lower/genio/all the above. I have not had my surgery yet, but I have been quoted about $30,000.00 for upper and genio. > hey everyone im new here and was wondering how much does it cost to > get this done? i really want to get it done but unsure if i could > afford. Guest guest
Usually insurance does not cover it. Either you have to save for it or find a dental school in your area ...they can do it for a lot less. The only thing is that usually the dental school has a waiting list for 6-12 months... Hope this helps Sadie watdude83 wrote: hey everyone im new here and was wondering how much does it cost to get this done? i really want to get it done but unsure if i could afford. Guest guest
While it is true that some insurance companies are slow, slow, slow to agree to cover these procedures, and go to extraordinary lengths to wear out those who apply for coverage of it, others are not. Mine covered everything except the suction machine. (Not the braces, of course, because there is a lifetime cap specifically on orthodontics. And usually not a genioplasty, which is deemed " cosmetic " in most cases, although a few people have had insurance approval for that, too.) It's at least worth checking into whatever insurance you have. Your surgeon should be able to give you some idea of his experience with a specific company -- or someone in his office should be able to do so. Guest guest
My insurance covered this as well. I thought I would have $250 co pay for the hospital stay, but I did not even have to pay that since it was considered ambulatory surgery. I paid about $3,000 for braces (insurance covered 40%) and some office visit co-pays, a few prescription co-pays and PT co-pays, all in all this will probably cost me under $4,000 and I have been making payments on the braces so that is over a 2 year period. It all depends on where you live and what medical insurance you have. Guest guest
A year ago, I was quoted " $12,500 per jaw, " but I have not yet had surgery either. I, too, am interested in what the total cost ought to be for someone with no insurance. i.e, should I shop around for a better deal? Anybody? > > hey everyone im new here and was wondering how much does it cost > to > > get this done? i really want to get it done but unsure if i could > > afford. Guest guest
shopping around for price on a procedure such as this is not wise. best to pay whatever the best wants or you may end up paying and paying in many ways. I originally had bimax and insurance was billed 30k. they ended up paying 16k. insurance ran out and i needed to have upper redone. I had to pony up a deposit of 15k just to get in and that was with surgeon fees waved! so it turns out that without surgeon fees and only one jaw done i will pay more than insurance did for the whole shebang. my recommendation is to find the best and pay what they ask, it's your health after all. eric > > > hey everyone im new here and was wondering how much does it cost > > to > > > get this done? i really want to get it done but unsure if i > could > > > afford. Guest guest
Get a good surgeon! You want the best for this type of job. I have saved for three years to pay for my surgery.
