Hi there,

The same exact thing happened to me after upper jaw surgery. I used

to have a really narrow nose and it became wider. I was really

bummed about it but everyone says the change is really only

noticeable to me. I thought my nose might go back after a few

months, but I'm a little over 6 months post-op and it's still the

same. A lot of good things that came out of the surgery - but I

still wish my nose had been preserved!

I've noticed the same thing, though I am only 3 months pot-op and

still have a little swelling.

This seems to be common with upper advancement.

I've noticed the same thing, though I am only 3 months pot-op and

I am only 2 weeks post op and I have noticed the same thing as well.

I had upper advancement also. My nose just seems larger to me

because it is more " out there " , rather than sunk in to my face. I

still have quite a bit of swelling left, but I don't think it is

going to change much though. That part disappoints me, too. Lyn

Mine got wider as well along with a severly deviated septum. I had

that repaired back in may, but my nose is not the same. I finally

figured out that they moved my jaw forward when it was only supposed

to be leveled.

How does your nose feel internally? How much was yours advanced.

should take a year 2 go down but 2 b honest i dont think it will

change much as it hasnt since about the last 3 months. my surgeon

says he offers a nose job to people who are still disatisfied after a

year but i dont want any more surgery for a long long time.

i suppose i will just have to live with it.

upper/lower/genio 3.5 months ago, yes, my nostrils are wider. i

don't like the look, i even sometimes squish them together hoping it

may help! I will tell you this though, i am breathing easier

through my nose, wish i had my old nose look back though. same here,

dr said he could fix, but i don't think i'll do it.

upper/lower/genio 3.5 months ago, yes, my nostrils are wider. i

don't like the look, i even sometimes squish them together hoping it

may help! I will tell you this though, i am breathing easier

they moved my jaw about 10 millimeters up. i thought my nose was

wide because of the swelling, so i didnt tell my surgeon anything

about it. im still a bit swollen but my nose is still wide and i

dont think it will change much. it really botheres me. its kind of

ironic. i did a jaw surgery to feel better when i smiled, and now i

have this big nose that is gonna bother me. if i wanted a big nose i

would have asked for one..

It is ironic for sure. I was just like you and wanted to feel better

when I smiled. Now my bite is perfect and looks wonderful, but it's

like my nose is in the way now and it gets much wider when I smile.

I told my doc I didn't want a different nose and he gave me one

It is ironic for sure. I was just like you and wanted to feel better

when I smiled. Now my bite is perfect and looks wonderful, but it's

yes.. it makes you feel a bit angry. and if id tell my surgeon he'd

probably think i was just nagging, since everyone says that my nose

isnt much different. (BUT IT IS!!)

its the same thing with me, my nose gets in the way when i smile and

it feels like everyone watches my nose instead of my new and better

smile. i dont think my surgeon would change my nose, cause i dont

think he feels like its a big difference.

do you think anyone has had a nose job as a result of upper jaw

surgery? and did they do it at another clinic?
