Guest guest
testing for HIV for surgery is not mandatory. they ask you for your consent if they can test you in the event that medical personnel gets a needle stick or is accidentally exposed to your blood. but, they're not allowed to test you without receiving that consent. i agree with them having the right to know. i sure would want to know. i'm just wierd and nervous about all tests. alex > >Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport >To: orthognathicsurgerysupport >Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Re: Dammit, 3 Months Post Op >Date: Wed, 06 Oct 2004 23:19:07 -0000 > > >Dammit, > >I'm so glad to hear from you... but you must be tired of those bands???? >I was, after only one month! > >Last Saturday marked my fourth month after surgery. Guest guest
I don't know about everyone else but my blood test said it was for RH typing, antibody screening and blood group ABO whatever that is. I think the antibody test would probably detect aids but maybe not HIV. if any of the tests came back positive for any reason they would have cancelled surgery. -- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " alex boyd " <alexboyd25@h...> wrote: > testing for HIV for surgery is not mandatory. they ask you for your consent > if they can test you in the event that medical personnel gets a needle stick > or is accidentally exposed to your blood. but, they're not allowed to test > you without receiving that consent. i agree with them having the right to > know. i sure would want to know. i'm just wierd and nervous about all tests. > alex > >From: " Ray " <carbone@v...> > >Reply-To: orthognathicsurgerysupport > >To: orthognathicsurgerysupport > >Subject: [Orthognathic Surgery Support ] Re: Dammit, 3 Months Post Op > >Date: Wed, 06 Oct 2004 23:19:07 -0000 > > > > > >Dammit, > > > >I'm so glad to hear from you... but you must be tired of those bands???? > >I was, after only one month! > > > >Last Saturday marked my fourth month after surgery.
