i found an answer to my HIV question

testing for HIV for surgery is not mandatory. they ask you for your consent

if they can test you in the event that medical personnel gets a needle stick

or is accidentally exposed to your blood. but, they're not allowed to test

you without receiving that consent. i agree with them having the right to

know. i sure would want to know. i'm just wierd and nervous about all tests.

testing for HIV for surgery is not mandatory. they ask you for your consent

you without receiving that consent. i agree with them having the right to

know. i sure would want to know. i'm just wierd and nervous about all tests.

I don't know about everyone else but my blood test said it was for RH

typing, antibody screening and blood group ABO whatever that is. I

think the antibody test would probably detect aids but maybe not HIV.

if any of the tests came back positive for any reason they would have

cancelled surgery.
