Guest guest
Ok -- Oct 5th, I had upper and lower, and rhino to fix deviated septium. I remember waking up after the operation, being in a lot of pain. I remeber the nurses asking me on a scale 1-10 how I felt, and I said 10. I think they kept me there a while, not sure how long tho. I was brought to my room, and my mom stayed with me that first night. I think it was around 5 that evening (Oct 5th) that I puked the most copious amounts of blood. Needless to say, everyone was freaked out. the anti-sickness meds didn't work. I ended up puking 4 times that night, with the last time being mostly dry heaving. I'm home now. I'm really swollen, I can't talk, when I try to drink anything, I end up getting it in the wrong passageway, so I end up choking. I weighed myself day of surery and I was 232. Today, I'm 220. I don't have any appetite -- every 4 hours, I wake up for more liquid hydrocodone, antibiotics, a glass of water, and a glass of 1/2water 1/2 apple juice. This really really really really sucks. I have blood all over the inside of my mouth that I can't seem to rinse out (too swollen). Blah blah --- I'm sure you've heard it all before. When can I expect to feel normal again? Guest guest
So sorry your going through this!, I lost 18 lbs in the first week so I know it sucks and losing all that weight so quickly makes you feel even weaker. Try some powdered or liquid vitamins mixed with water if you can't get any food down. Warm tea with lots of honey is another good option. The first 3 days post-op are the worst so you should start to feel a little better by the weekend. Keep us posted, this will all be a foggy memory sooner than you think.
