Guest guest
Jo - I'm only 6 weeks post op (Lower only), but I did experience a similar cold sensitivity at about 3 weeks. It didn't last long, and I'm not feeling anything like that anymore. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be very climate sensitive at all. In the last 2 weeks we've had practically every type of weather you can imagine here (Denver area) -- sun, rain, snow, tornadoes. And I also flew home for my class reunion (sea level) where the humidity was far greater than it is here without an issue. (I imagine I would have had more issues with the humidity/altitude changes if I had my upper done though, considering I'm still pretty early on in my recovery) I only have 6 screws in there, but that was the general area that felt weird in the cold. Not quite painful, but not really comfortable either. Hope this helps! ~Jen > > I am 8 wks post-op upper and genio. Guest guest
HI Jen, Yeah I have plates and suppose screws, but everything was done on the inside..... mind you, I have been still having some sporadic swelling on the left side and chin, we think mostly due to overuse...I am on an antibio to be safe too....but I am trying to learn what's normal or routine - compared to worry time...I thought I had a good feel, but the swelling only started like this wk 7...so it's a leaning curve I suppose. I just an a wee bit paranoid that I don't do myself diservice and am on top of any beginning trouble...my big fear is to miss something and have to have surg to have these taken out-my face/teeth have never stayed put when given option to roam...so I think my body would find a way to undo the work with out the anchors in place...know what I mean? it's just been such a long road all these yrs trying to get a good bite, loose the daily pain and have a nice smile too...GOOD THOUGHTS and thanks for listening Jen. Guest guest
Hi Jen, You live in Denver? I live in Aurora. If you don't mind me asking who did your surgery and what hospital were you in? Also what type of surgery did you have? I am having 8mm upper impaction, done at littleton adventist on Oct 12. Dr boyd Tomasetti and Steve will be doing my Surgery from Rocky Mountian Oral and Maxillofacial. Well good luck with your recovery. - In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " jfloweroflifet " <jfloweroflifet@y...> wrote: > > HI Jen, > > Yeah I have plates and suppose screws, but everything was done on the > inside..... > mind you, I have been still having some sporadic swelling on the left > side and chin, we think mostly due to overuse...I am on an antibio to > be safe too....but I am trying to learn what's normal or routine - > compared to worry time...I thought I had a good feel, but the > swelling only started like this wk 7...so it's a leaning curve I > suppose. > I just an a wee bit paranoid that I don't do myself diservice and am > on top of any beginning trouble...my big fear is to miss something > and have to have surg to have these taken out-my face/teeth have > never stayed put when given option to roam...so I think my body would > find a way to undo the work with out the anchors in place...know what > I mean? > it's just been such a long road all these yrs trying to get a good > bite, loose the daily pain and have a nice smile too...GOOD THOUGHTS > and thanks for listening Jen. > JO > > > > > > > I am 8 wks post-op upper and genio. Guest guest
Hi ! I live pretty close to you - near . I'm making the crazy drive to Boulder for all of this (when I started I lived in Golden). My Orthodontist is Dr. Brent Lang, and my OS is Dr. Foley. I had my surgery at Longmont United Hospital. So far, it's been worth the drive, they're both terrific. ~Jen > > > > > > > > I am 8 wks post-op upper and genio.
