Well, I seriously hope that they do NOT do this, or that there is some

sort of over-ride. My ex-husband has tried every anti-depressant known

to man and this is the only one that really works for him. If they take

him off his serzone, I predict that they will kill him within five years

through his suicide.

SERZONE - Warning !!!

Just in case my e-mail did not come thru.........

Go to; drudgereport.com - it has news

reports etc. Scoll down past them, and on the

left side, click on AP National. Scroll down

until you see 'Health News " , and quite a ways

down is an article on Serzone. It has been

taken off te market in Europe, and the FDA

is considering doing the same here - due to

liver problems and deaths.......just want you

to informed. I used to take this, until I was

switched over to Effexor a few years ago.

Inquiring minds want to know !!! Joannie

: one thing about serious depression, any side effect from a drug that

works, is worth it. Unless you have been in that dark pit of despair, one

can't imagine why you would risk anything to be out.

I " think " that is what was saying......that IF they take her husband

off of Serzone.........suicide would be the result. I know how and what she

means......the only anti-depressant that worked for me was

Nortryptoline.....doc won't put me back on due to the liver.......so I just

sit in my own little hell!!!!!!!! P.

Honest to God I am sitting here almost in tears...........I haven't gone back to

a shrink because I cannot fathom adding a one hour session to my weekly

schedule.......not right now anyway. When I left my shrink 12 years ago he said

that I would definitely HAVE to be on meds for life.........I really will call

tomorrow if this is the case.........never occurred to me any would do

this.......... P.

One of the *advantages* of managed care is that I can call my doctor and

pretty much leave a voicemail telling her what I want in the way of meds, and

they'll phone in a prescription. When I decided to go on wellbutrin, I just

called my PCP and left the message. I'd like to think that they'd want to

see me if they thought there was a problem, but....

I found a Psychiatrist and THAT is all he does. He helps get my MEDS

balanced! I am lucky if I see him for 30 min! He WAS and Internal Meds doc

and really gets the by-pass issues. I also love his attitude toward an

anxiety med that I take that the Navy just has hissy fits over. I take

Clonazapam (geez if I could spell I would be dangerous!) at night. Every

time I talk to my Navy Docs about this ... They say...AS NEEDED right? You

KNOW this is ADDICTIVE!!! I told them YES as NEEDED....every damn NIGHT! So,

I told my Psychiatrist about this. And this was what he told me. " A person

addicted to this med was someone who had a list of 8 different Doctors, in

order to get enough to have it do what they needed it to do. Then the person

adds 2 more Doctors, because it isn't enough. A person with high blood

pressure is DEPENDENT on his high blood pressure medicine to keep it with in

normal ranges. A person with Diabetes is DEPENDENT (his emphasis on the word

DEPENDENT)on insulin to keep his diabetes under control. A person with an

Anxiety disorder is DEPENDENT on their anti-anxiety meds to keep the illness

under control. " THEN he rolled his eyes!!!! I nearly fell OFF the chair I

was laughing so hard. I guess it was the roll of the eyes that did it to me.

Shoot...I am DEPENDENT on oxygen for living!!! LOL According to the Navy I

must be an oxygen ADDICT!

I am sorry if I am misunderstanding your post. But, if you have a serious

depression, you are better off having someone that knows a lot about all drugs

available. Cosing to make this decisions yourself alone, can be dangerous.

I only see my shrink four times a year, or quarterly, the minimum for a meds

check in her opinion. I do spend the obligatory hour, but don't see really

why that is necessary. She's NOT a therapist, and I've already done my 15

years of therapy... But quarterly, I can handle that.

I knew the med you were talking about...I can't spell it either. I tried it

ONCE.....a friend gave me one during an especially bad panic time. I passed

out for about 4 hours......literally couldn't move!! Was on the

couch....could hear everything but couldn't respond!! Really weird

feeling........which I don't mind........I LOVE altered states!!! I keep

thinking back to the time 12 years ago that I first started

anti-depressants...I couldn't believe that people actually walked around

daily feeling like that.......I know it is time to get back on them, now to

just make that phone call!! THANKS......... P..

, Which is exactly why I take it at night! LOL Within a half an hour I

am in lala land...no waking up in the middle of the night in a panic....not

being able to shut the brain off...no going off on tangents that are totally

useless or worrying about things that I shouldn't BE worrying about. During

the day, it seems to keep the brain from going into over load...especially

when I am under stress. It is NOT pleasant when this happens because then I

totally stop functioning. All I can do is panic. Thank goodness for

something that works for me!!!!

Boy Debbie..........you sound just like me. I have something I take at

night too.....Sinequan!! I started taking it to avoid morning

headaches.....but noticed that I don't do all the night time insanity

thinking that I am soooo prone to. It also takes care of the insomnia!!!!!
