Guest guest
<<I get back a hundred fold what I put out there. Try it...it works!>> Vicki, you are absolutely, 100% correct!!!! Trust me. It has nothing to do with fat issues. It has to do with respect. I spent 23 years in law enforcement, and in all that time, I never had one single complaint filed against me. You know why? Because I chose to treat people as people. I can count the fights I got into on one hand. I worked the most difficult part of town. I practically lived with the homeless and the drunks and prostitutes 24 hours a day. They'd fight my fights for me, defend me to the death, and tell me anything I wanted to know. That's not bragging. It's a documented fact. I can't count the number of times that robbery or homicide detail would call me, looking for someone, and I could round them up, and bring them in, NOT in handcuffs, in less than 2 hours. Why? Because I was honest, and treated " those people " with the respect that they deserved as human beings. I didn't care if they were fat, one legged, or had a glass eyeball...it didn't matter to me, because it didn't matter to them that I wore a uniform and carried a gun. We were all in the fight for life together, and we fought the good fight, together. I got back more than I put in to it. THOSE people, and those days are what I miss about the job. Now, I want to sniffle at missing my old " friends. " They gave me so much, when it seemed that they had so little to give. They gave me all they had to give... their love, their trust, and their devotion. I hope I was able to give a little of myself in return...and a bag of hamburgers from Mac's!
