Guest guest
Dan, Wonderful example of the PS photo shoot. I had my panniculectomy done about a year ago so I had a pretty good mental picture already. They were able to pull out my apron about 2 feet. I hope not to many people had to see that picture. I was really grateful that they took off 25 lbs of excess skin and the fat ball I had. You will do great. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs. Guest guest
Vicki, This is a rarity, I promise. At my heaviest, I weighed 479 lbs on a 5 ft frame. At some point, there was no place for the fat to go but down on my stomach. I already had a saging apron before surgery. I was having trouble driving because my stomach was between my knees and I couldn't get my foot over to the break. When I finally went in to get the panniculectomy surgery done, there was literally a ball of fat hanging between my knees. It really was pretty funny. Everytime I stood up I would have to grab both sides and pull up just to stand straight. It was the fat ball (almost like a tumor) that was pulling the skin down 2 feet. So it truly was not liposuction as much as it was having a fat deposit in the excess skin. I wish I had a scanner so I could post pictures. It is so much easier to understand with a visual. Most of what was taken off was the fat, I promise. We guessed that the skin itself only weighed a pound or two, at most 3. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs. That must depend entirely on how much extra skin there is. I haven't had any removed, but my best friend, who had her RNY about 6 months before mine, lost 20# of skin with her panni removal, and she didn't have lipo. Another friend of mine who started at 650 pounds lost 60# of skin (he had gotten down to between 190-200 and was about 6 feet tall). ~~ Lyn G

Guest guest
I was at my goal (I thought) when I had my abdominoplasty, 155 lbs and 5'4 " . I had 7 pounds taken off me, plus two liters of fat. I went on to lose all the way down to 126. One pound for an average panniculectomy seems quite low.
