Guest guest
Hi guys. Does anyone have an answer????What do you say when someone comes up to you and says how great you look and you have lost sooo much weight and goes on and on. I know that i feel GREAT and really appraciate what people are saying, But when the question is asked " HOW DID YOU LOSE SOOO MUCH WEIGHT " ? What do you say??? " Oh I had a Gastric Bypass " I can't say that. I told NO ONE. Not even my family (brothers, Sisters) Only my husband and 1 close friend! That is it. I sometimes feel like a liar and i don't want to. My husband was making fun of me when i was speaking with someone and they were saying how good i looked and I was saying how i cut down on portions and fat and sugar and so on and so forth. He told me soon my nose was going to grow. Anyhow please let me know how my REAL FAMILY (you Guys) respond God Bless You All And Skinny Dreams to All B Curcio 300/238/150???? 10/1/

Guest guest
, I too find it difficult to except compliments from others. Many people I haven't seen in some time end up staring until they realize it's me and then they approach me. I just tell them thank-you (when I receive a compliment) and when they ask how I did it, I usually tell them. I'm proud of what I've done. It was the biggest decision I've made in my life time. I don't know how to answer your question regarding family though. All of my family and friends knew and they have all been very supportive from the get go. I'm sure you'll get a lot of advice with this group, hang in there. Take Care, Open RYN 4-7-03 351/224/???

Guest guest
, I've thought about the very same thing! What do you say to people? I have told many people that I am having gastric bypass surgery, so that part isn't a secret. But I know I will be bombarded by a lot of questions as I loose weight as the months go by. I look at this surgery as a way to save my health and my life not as something to focus my life and conversations on. To some people I may just say, " I've made some major lifestyle changes " and that's all they need to know. I think that we need to be sensitive to our own needs and not feel we have to tell everyone the entire story. As time goes on I think you will know what you feel comfortable saying to different people. You may feel comfortable telling more to some and less to others. Wishing you the best in your journey....
