Guest guest
Hi family, I saw a cartoon in today's paper that bothers me....possibly because I saw myself as I was but also for all those who are just starting their journey...or those who aren't ready or want the surgery. It is Bizarro.... and a parody of the Tunnel of Love, only in the cartoon it is called the Tunnel of Substitute Love...with a hamburger, ice cream cone and a piece of pie on the sign. A very large/obese woman is in a boat....only her boat is pig with an apple in its mouth. and she has cotton candy in her left hand and a drink in her right. I had the feeling of wanting to cry. Someday I am going back to Fiesta Texas in San Nation and ride the giant swing seats. We waited an hour to ride it and then I was too large to fit in the seat and had to leave and everyone knew why I couldn't ride and some snickered and laughed at me. Can I have someone killed or do I need a time out? or need to lighten up a bit? Thanks for letting me get this out. in Houston

Thanks for letting me get this out. in Houston ---------------------------------- None of the above, . Have your cry. A nice long good one. It's cathartic and it actually does something in the body to improve mood. And we ALL have the right to cry over this stuff. We have ALL suffered at some point in our lives from ignorant, or cruel, or insecure people who think it's okay to take shots at those with disease and disability. That IS what we had, and still have, and will always have to some extent. Can u imagine anyone getting away with that kind of behavior toward a blind person or a cancer victim? Me--after my good cry--I'd take pen in hand and write a blistering (but educational) letter to the editor of the publication that printed what upset you. THAT is also cathartic. And pro-active. And you will feel very good about yourself. Carol A
