Guest guest
Hi , Dr. Widner is my OS. I am scheduled for upper and lower jaw surgery on November 3 to correct jaw assymetry. My first consultation with Dr. Widner was about 1.5 years ago. Since then he has removed my 4 wisdom teeth and I have had several progress checks after I had my braces on. More recently we have had several pre-surgery appointments. Since I haven't had my surgery yet, I can't comment on that. But I was very happy with how smoothly my wisdom teeth extraction went -- no swelling and no pain. My opinion of Dr. Widner is that he is very competent and knowledgeable. He seems to be concerned about the aesthetic outcome, as well as the functional one. In addition, I have been pleased with how closely he has worked with my OD throughout this whole process for the last year. I am excited and anxious to be through the surgery stage of this process! My only small negative would be that at times I felt like I wasn't getting all the information I needed. For example, I will be wired shut for 3 weeks and then banded for another 5 weeks. I didn't know about the banding until I specifically asked about it. Fortunately, this group is very informative, so I knew about the possibilities and knew what questions to ask. I'm the type that wants to know the whole story, good and bad. Dr. Widner is very good at answering questions when you ask them though. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Widner. I think he will do a great job. I would just advise you to do your research and ask LOTS of questions. By the way, if you don't mind sharing, what is your opinion of him so far and what was the opinion of the other patient you talked with? Good luck!
