Guest guest
I have the same concern. My father died of colon cancer and my diet is largely Adkins: fat, protein and just a few vegetables. I guess I could take metamucil, but I already take so damn many things. I wonder if V-8 has any fiber? If there's something good to drink that has it in it. That Devrom stuff works pretty well, I think. So does skipping the latte at Starbucks! <G> in Austin RNY April 1998 Flatulence comment/colon question (!) > Well, a while back I asked a question about if there were anything that > could be done about malodorous gas and some people suggested Devrom. > Well, the few times I've used it is has worked like a charm. Guest guest
For those who take Devrom, I just got some samples in the mail and they say to take 3/day with meals. Well, I eat 5 or so small meals a day, not three big meals. Guest guest
It doesn't have to be strict to be effective. I tend to take it before or during a meal. I think as long as it's in your gut somewhere, it's going to help. I snack, but just take it a couple of times a day with the regular meals. in Austin RNY April 1998 Flatulence comment/colon question (!) > > > > Well, a while back I asked a question about if there were anything that > > could be done about malodorous gas and some people suggested Devrom. > > Well, the few times I've used it is has worked like a charm. Guest guest
Terry, I just fill my boxes once a week, and spread out the capsules three times a day. I find it works, even when I'm not eating a meal. I take 2 in the am, 2 around 4 pm, and 2 at about 8 pm. Seems to work for me. Regards~ Jacque Distal RNY, 5/30/00 Drs. Guest guest
The best way to reduce your chances of getting colon cancer are to make sure you poop at least every four days. Simple. Whatever it takes. For me, it takes a couple of sugar-free Fiber Choice tablets each day and then I feel great. As for Devrom, can someone tell me exactly WHAT'S in it? I'd love to get it and take it, but I am allergic to so many things and hate wasting money. Can someone who has a bottle of it post the ingredients list so I can look them up before ordering it? Many thanks! Ziobro Open RNY 09/17/01 (18 months today) 310/130 Flatulence comment/colon question (!) Well, a while back I asked a question about if there were anything that could be done about malodorous gas and some people suggested Devrom. Well, the few times I've used it is has worked like a charm. Thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction on that! I have another question (sorry that I seem obsessed with my intestines!).....do you think there is any benefit to these " colon cleansing " products out there? It seems like it may be a good idea, especially for " us " . I have a family history of colon cancer and just wondered if anyone out there had any more info. on whether this would is worth the cost/effort. Thanks for all your help! Sharon P.
