Guest guest
Hi , First of all, it is good to hear from you too!!! You are right! We have come far, recovery wise, since June 2nd!!! Remembering how I looked on day 4 after surgery . . . the liquid diet . . . the splint . . . " brushing " my teeth . .. . the swelling inside my mouth . . . being banded . . . surgical hooks and wires . . . etc, etc, etc!!! Yes, we have indeed come a long way!!! I am having no problem dealing with the numb gums and altered sensation on the tip of my tongue and my lower left chin. Part of the journey. I can relate with you regarding the rubber band from the inside of my upper roof to the outside of my lower jaw. That's the only part of having braces I am not that happy with. The dreaded " button " !!! This is the second time I had to have a " button " . Trust me, I was not amused when my OD told me that I was going to have to have it. It's 2004 . . . you would think they could at least round off the edges! Hello!!! I am still getting used to chewing with my new bite, but happy to say, I have not had any problems. Take care and best of luck to you! Keep in touch. With regards, Dale New Orleans, LA Upper/Lower 06/02/
