Hi people! I've not posted on here for quite a long time. I'm

English but have been living in Paris for the last 5 years. I'm 27.

I got my braces in March 2003 and I finally saw my surgeon for the

second time last night - the first time was before I took the

decision to go for it. I was half expecting him to say I wasn't

ready and should come back in six months but he asked me when I

wanted the surgery, I said as soon as possible, and he asked me how

January sounded! Then we both went to see his assistant to fix the

date. I'm down for 19 January. I think my ortho might try to get the

date changed as it's a Wednesday and I know she's usually very busy

on a Wednesday. But I don't know how important it is that she is

actually there.

I will see my surgeon again at the begining of January and I'll also

see the anaesthetist.

It's probably going to be upper, lower and chin but I get the

impression that he'll decide about the chin when I'm in surgery.

Also, he won't know until the surgery whether I'll be wired shut or

not. I'll just have to wait and see.

I'm so happy to have my date that I wanted to share it with people I

know will understand. I told my mum on the phone last night but

she's a bit squeamish about the whole thing.

Bye for now
