I have been doing alot of research on this surgery (sagittal split).

I have to admit is seems very scary. I wonder why the orthodontist

and maxillo facial surgeon think it is best when there are so many

risks involved. Are they that confident in themselves that there

should be no problems or should one be reluctant to proceed with this

operation? Just sufing the web I have come across many that would

advise against it, or are bad outcomes the only ones who post. I

wonder if 8 or 9 out of 10 are actually happy with their outcome with

no complications and would actually do it again. I am not sure I want

to have a surgery to correct something for just personal reasons vs

medical reasons. The surgeon I met with stated he has done thousands

of these. Does that mean there will be no problems??
