Penny, this is pure speculation as I've, fortunately, never had

either problem, but the pain part sounds like possibly a bowel

obstruction or kinked intestine. On the other hand, the throwing up

is often a symptom of a closed or swollen stoma.

Hopefully, the gastroenterologist can figure it out.

Good luck,

Hi Penny,

You probably aren't dying. However it is a good idea you are seeing your

doctor to be sure everything is OK. What it probably means is that you

won't be able to eat as much or as varied or as well as you would like for a

while. Your stomach may be going through some natural changes. This means

you will lose weight faster -- and that isn't so bad! I am now slightly

underweight 18 months out. It isn't so bad to be underweight. Find some

things you can eat and stick with them. Have ice cream snacks. Eat

popsicles. Try crackers and cheese. Eat raw oysters. Try protein bars.

Enjoy it while it lasts.
