Guest guest
Sheila: I went through the same thing. The first time I went out clothes shopping I was supposed to go with a friend of mine. She couldn't make it, so I went by myself. She came over later to see what I had bought and I started crying because I didn't buy anything. I went into many stores and just stood there going in circles not knowing where to go first. Didn't know what size I was and was so overwhelmed at the fact that I could actually look at something and buy what I like, not what fit. I panicked and went home. She then took me out shopping the next day, but to a smaller store where I can get my " feet wet " so to speak. $400.00 later wearing size 14 and 12's, I came out smiling. My friend often mentions to me how she will never forget the look of happiness on my face when I came out of the dressing room wearing size 14 jeans. Guest guest
Sheila, I can so relate especially to the walking with no cane or wheelchair. I keep thinking about the old saying, " Hey mom Look. No hands. " I am still not skinny but I know that I still have this image of me being 200 lbs heavier. I still wonder if a chair will hold me or if I can get through an aisle or fit in a theatre chair. There are very few chairs that I have to avoid. Not all aisles are as small as I think they are and I do fit in theatre seats. Lori Owen - Denton, Texas CHF 4/14/01 479 lbs. SRVG 7/16/01 401 lbs.
