Guest guest
Hi, Is it normal to be 9 weeks post op and still have no feeling in the right side of my lip and chin following lower jaw advancement 6.5 mm? Could the screws be impinging on that nerve? Has anyone out there had to have their screws removed for interfering with the nerve? I've got most of the feeling back, slowly but surely, on the left side, but the right is completely numb still. My OS doesn't want to see me back again for 4 months or until I get my braces off, so I feel like he's tired of hearing me worry about this numbness, OR maybe he has written me off as the unfortunate 1% who has permanent numbness. He SAYS he's 100% sure I " ll get it all back eventually. He said to try and stimulate this nerve, but I " m not sure how. ANy suggestions? This numbness on half my lip affects the way I smile, talk, and eat. It doesn't droop, but it's not right there with the other side either, making me look weird when smiling or talking. At this point I " m wishing I'd never had this done. When did you all get your feeling back in your lip and chin? JCross
