Hi Peeps,

OK, so now... I know you've posted this info 1000 times, but now I'm ready to

pay attention. I saw a general surgeon yesterday about my infected belly

button (3 weeks infected and counting). He's talking about possibly

removing the belly button. I mentioned taking the panni with it, he said

there's no way the insurance will approve it. I'm going for a CT scan this

week to see if we can find out why I'm infected. I'm moving slowly so I can

get my " act " together here. What should I do next? Seems utterly

ridiculous to let them cut without taking a chunk of me with it.

Don't know if this will help, but get thee to a plastic surgeon, and

see if the panni is aggravating the condition. Obviously, the other

option is kicking in the extra for the TT. But, and this is just my

opinion, if you can swing the extra bucks for panni removal, make

sure you don't want to go for the full abdominoplasty. What I've

learned about plastic surgery...when they make something look so good

on your body, it makes the " untouched " areas look so much worse.

But, first things first, gotta find out where this infection is

coming from to begin with, or any surgery could become a problem.

Good luck,

I would most definitely get an opinion of a plastic surgeon. I had one

general surgeon tell me I shouldn't have weight loss surgery. He stated

that I just needed to buckle up and push the plate away. He mentioned

this when I weighed 479 lbs and was on my way in to surgery (different

surgeon) to have some diabetic sores worked on. Needless to say I was in

tears. I would think the infected bellybutton could only help in getting

the panni done.
