Guest guest
Hi RaeShel I am having the exact same issues. I had surgery just less than a month before you and I can eat anything now. Nothing makes me dump or vomit. Steak is the ONLY thing that doesnt set well, so I just dont eat it. Sugar, bring it on. Fats, fried foods, lactose, carbs, breads, rice....all these things that other post ops cant tolerate are no problem for my tummy. Also I can eat much larger amounts than I had anticipated. Its worrisome, but thus far I am still losing. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone. As for me, I am exercising hard and just joined weight watchers again last night. I dont plan on following the WW plan exactly, but I love having the accountability and support (my surgery took place two hours from my home and there are no in person RNY support groups around here). ~ami~ Lap RNY 5-13-03 261/179/130 In a message dated 2/18/2004 6:35:37 PM Central Standard Time, fossey2@... writes: Hey guys, I am 8 months post op and have discovered that I can eat ANYTHING! The last couple of days my body has seriously been craving food! I have had my share of ups and downs when it comes to control with food...but these last couple of days has just been KILLER! Even though in comparison to pre surgery I am not eating nearly as much as I was, I still hate that feeling of being out of control. It scares me to think that I may be returning to my old habits....sure, today I binged on a snack pack of doritos...but 2 years from now who's to say it won't be an entire bag! And the sucky thing is...I don't get sick! I can have a HUGE amount of carbs (what would be considered huge after surgery)and it doesn't seem to bother me one bit! I think this scares me more than anything. I work out like a maniac 6 days a week so I think that is what has kept me on the losing side this whole time. But I still hate being a slave to my cravings. I know cutting out sugar can " detox " me, but I do that and for no rhyme or reason I have strong cravings again!!!!!! Anyone else experience this? And if so, how do you deal? Thanks! RaeShel;O) 373/193/155? Surgery June 6th, 2003

Guest guest
I am 7 months postop and have been able to eat just about anything I want for a couple of months. I just can't eat very much. It concerns me too about getting back some old habits like grazing all evening, eating some sweets and such, but the saving grace is that I am still slowly losing weight. I walk several times each week, and I guess that helps. I am concerned, as you, what will happen a year from now. Maybe if i start gaining I can break the bad habits again. I am only about 6 lbs from my goal weight, so I guess I will know fairly soon what to expect. If I keep losing, I guess I will continue eating as I have lately. If I start gaining, it will be time for reprogramming. I feel your lack of pain. I have only gotten a little sick a few times from eating too much or too quickly, but have never dumped. It seems too weird though to complain about not dumping! bill g 250/181/175 rny 7-15-03 fmc > Hey guys, > > I am 8 months post op and have discovered that I can eat > ANYTHING!
