Guest guest
That sounds like steaming to me! I actually have one of those raised thingys with holes in it...supposed to steam veggies, I think? My mother buys me these little cooking gadgets...geez, hasn't she ever heard of Bird's Eye? in NJ ***************** > I'm no chef ( although I would love to go to chef school) but poaching seafood is basically cooking the fish over water without being IN the water. I just use a covered skillet with a round thingy (don't know what it is cause I inherited it from a past roommate) that has holes in it that raises the fish about half an inch off the skillet. Basically it's like steaming. Don't shoot me Emeril, I'm just a bubbette trying to get by the best she can. hehe. > > judy in austin > >

Guest guest
I think I have one of those steamer thingamabobbers too now that you mention it . I don't cook but I am always buying gadgets. You think I would fix my broken oven instead. It has been for 5 years. The stove eyes work okay and I bought a little countertop broiler thing that works for the small amount of cooking I do. For some reason though I keep buying little kitchen gadgets like they are going to turn me into Emeril Lagasse!! I have been looking at those new " as seen on TV " pasta pots lately thinking I need one and for the life of me, I can barely eat any pasta at all since my surgery. Its a shame that they did not operate on my head when they did my WLS... sigh...
