Guest guest
Hi there Blake I had upper/lower/chin on Sept 10 and I still have swelling, everyone is different. My range of motion also needed improvement so my surgeon (from Stanford) suggested Physical Theraphy and today was my first day. Since I'm having trouble with my range of motion as well as the swelling he gave me exercises, used heat/ice, measured my opening at 15mm and when he finished I was 24mm...I was impressed. I was a bit uncomfortable at times but I'm willing to do anything to get the range of motion back and have my cheeks feel normal. I can really feel the muscles in my cheeks that are swollen when I do the exercises. My good news was that the range of motion is muscular...whew! My face swells more on different sides on different days, I was told not to worry. Yes, talking in the early days brings on that tight feeling. I'm using moist heat followed by an ice cube rub, it is a bit of a chill at first but then it feels wonderful. I've resigned myself to my " slightly bigger " jowels but it will get better. Believe me, I've come a long way since the surgery. It's baby steps, two forward and one back...it's a journey.
