Guest guest
I don't know what Atkins says about beans, but they are GOOD fiber! They contain some protien, but usually need to be combinded with another carb to make a whole protein. Just make sure after eating this bean soup that you spend much time outside and do NOT go near an open flame. (LOL Sorry...couldn't resist! ) Debbie in Gig Harbor (170cm medial) ladybostons@... http://www.cafeshops.com/copsstore How legal is this? Being menopausal I get the strangest cravings. Do I crave chocolate? NOOOO. Do I crave black olives? NOOOO. Is it for lobster? Noooo. I just HAVE to have bean soup today!! (no comments from the peanut gallery lol) I just made some with beans, ham chunks, onion, carrots, celery..lots of salt and fresh ground pepper and bay leaf. I might kill before it's done 5 hours later in the crock pot. But...I know it's not the best carb wise. Just what does Atkins say about complex carbs and daily allotment? I mean...how bad could this be (if I don't graze on the entire pot today.) Thanks, Carol G. Guest guest
Can't answer the questions, but I went through months of craving bean soup....and I did eat bean soup, and still lost weight. Now I don't crave it anymore, but during that time, it was just about all I wanted. If you crave it, eat it. It's not candy or cookies carbs. It's complex carbs. Check out the glycemic load (better indication than glycemic index) for how much damage the carbs will do. Beans are really good for you; I don't think it's bad to eat bean soup, even if you graze on it all day. And if you do, u might get sick enuf of it you won't crave it tomorrow.
