If you are not lifting weights it would be unusual for you to have had a

net gain of 5 pounds of muscle over just a month's time frame. Many people

however, do experience a temporary weight gain when they begin an exercise

program because the exercise is making them hungrier and they are eating

more. This typically evens out and you begin losing again.

One really crazy thought I had was wondering if you had been in the

swimming pool before you had your weigh in and measuring? Is it possible

that your skin was water logged? I know, sounds weird, but I thought it, so

decided to write it and risk the laughter.

Hang in there - the weight SHOULD respond to the increased activity as

long as you don't over eat the calories burned.

As for breakfast, I don't know how many carbs you allow yourself, but how

about apple slices with peanut butter? They are really yummy! Or, how about

bacon lettuce and tomato without the bread (use a big leaf of lettuce as a

wrap). By the way, peanut butter on a BLT is to die for!

Hello serenity one,

Just out of curiosity, what kind of certification does your

trainer have? It is my understanding that almost any exercise will build

some muscle. Of course I could be wrong.

That must be what I was thinking. I know that the times when I actively

started exercising, I always gained some. I suppose I added the wrong to

things together (exercise + weight gain does not always equal increased

muscle mass.) Oh well. I think I would still check out the credentials

of the trainer. Ya never know what you're getting these days.
