There are two things I learned about humor:

1. In most humor there is a bit of truth.

2. It is much harder to be kind then clever.

Fay,

It is 5 AM and I am having my coffee and up at my regular time...but

I noticed you posted at 3:30 AM. I hope you got some sleep last

night.

Let me add that I have found your posts informative and enjoyable

and not at all offensive. Sometimes strong in your opinion, but I

like people who are not afraid to state their opinion. It gives

them substance and allows me to know where I stand around them and

what they believe in. However I believe in the fact that " timing is

everything " and that there is a time for humor and a time to remain

quiet.

Someone once said, " when two people agree on everything...one of

them is unnecessary. "

Remember Emerson's saying? " Finsh each day and be done with it... "

Godspeed,

Carol G.

Dan, it makes complete sense to me. The only problem is I need my job. I

know that people can't hear me when I talk. This was all my fault. I didn't

even need to send that memo. I was just trying to help out. I promised my

self when I took this job, I wouldn't do that. I guess I will never learn.

But of course that is ok too.

Thanks Deb. I do have a brag. I can now get down on the floor and change my

granddaughters diaper. I guess that is a good thing. At least being able to

get up is.

Fay, if it is any comfort at all, you are not alone in the world, LOL! I do

not think there is a serious bone in my body but I am not sure the rest of

the world gets that message when I communicate with them. Sometimes they

do, oft times I am amazed at the response I get in return on occasion. My

wife tells me it is because I am supposed to be Bipolar. But what does she

know? Just yesterday I was able to leap tall buildings in a single bound,

etc., and today I cannot get out of bed,,,,,,LOL,,,,,,not mood changes in

this kid,,,,telling ya!

Once in an airport I picked up some eastern religious literature whilst

awaiting a plane. Flipped it open to one page (this is twenty years ago?)

and I remember precisely what I read. The gist was something like " practice

silence and realize that most others do not want to hear so therefore you

are expending energy without hope of return. " Hmmmmmmmmm,,,,,,,I have never

been able to do that, cause it just ain't me yanno? Can I help it if the

rest of the universe is out of step with me? I am too old to be concerned

with it anyway and when I encounter a vexing situation I just look at it and

walk away these days. I will eliminate someone from my life at the drop of

a hat, LOL! Life is short! Be Happy! :)

My wife of course thinks I am a hermit who has withdrawn from the world. I

prefer to think that I have arrived at some sort of inner consciousness

where I even like " me " these days and enjoy my own company and do not have

anxiety over being with me. I am alone a great deal, but never lonely. It

was not always that way. The fear of doing something that would make me

" lose " others and make them go away (abandon) me hence the anxiety over

social situations was about the only constant. This is another of the great

lies I have told myself most of my life. I think I know pretty well now

that the only person I am guaranteed to be with for the rest of my life is

me, and therefore I am the only one I need approval from. I tell myself

everyday that I am a worthwhile human. I actually say it out loud too! Does

any of this make any sense? LOL!

It amazes me to no end how much I can relate to the people on this board

(most of you anyway, and it's the ones I LIKE too :) People think that I am

crazy because I LIKE to go out to dinner and or a movie myself.......they

insist that it is not normal behavior. I have a ton of people who would be

more than happy to go with me......there are just times that I would prefer

to go solo!! P.
