Guest guest
Dear Everyone, My dear former internist felt it was in her best interest to send me a certified letter in the mail informing me that she would no longer be able to provide medical care to me because I was too complicated and too demanding for her area of expertise. She also said in the letter that she would provide emergency medical care and see me for any pre scheduled appt within the time frame she set forth.. 7 days. I am to locate a new health care practitioner in 7 days from the date of my letter, 3-31-03.. I received this letter on 04-05-03.. Tomorrow my 7 days is up. I find that this is totally unethical , unprofessional and compromising to my health care. Fortunately, I have already found a new internist and became established quickly. I just wanted to update everyone on what was happening with my doctor problems. Guest guest
You know, , what she did may sound harsh, but in my mind it is so much better than pretending to know what she is doing and thus giving you bad or even life threatening advice. I agree she didn't give you much notice. At least you know not to waste any more time on her. My PCP keeps saying she is supportive of me and will learn all she can. She has yet to learn a darn thing. I have to tell her what to do. Sometimes this consists of sitting in the waiting room until she comes and talks to me and then moaning and groaning until she gets sick of me. Sometimes she will call my surgeon to check things out. I have just found another doctor in Tacoma WA, about a 3 hour drive from my house, who supposedly know about this stuff. I'm going to watch him anyway. I'm still going to keep track of all my labs. I hope your new PCP is better than your previous one. At least you're rid of her. Wrong advice can be deadly.
