Hey All!

This Thursday will mark 4 wks post op for me, yay! I went to ortho

today and he informed me that he will be removing the splint on

Thursday as he is quite satisfied with how my jaw/teeth have

adjusted. I was so ecstatic! That made me aware I was that much

closer to being able to pig out on real food and talk like a normal

person. Recovery for me has been pretty decent, not much pain at

all. However I do find I need to rest alot cause my energy level

just ain't there like it used to be. Sometimes I do force myself to

keep on going but find I pay the price for it later in the day or

the following day. Swelling has subsided on the right side but

under my nose and on my left side it's still noticeable. I have

feeling back in some parts of my face, lips, tongue and in bottom

teeth but my chin, my goodness, I can't feel any part of it. From

reading posts on here, it seems like that's a general concensus.

For those of you just starting recovery or heading into the surgery,

don't worry. It's intimidating at first, and I will be honest it

does get trying your first few days at home but with a positive

attitude and great support around you, you'll find you're like me

wondering where all the weeks have gone and realize you are that

close to being healed :D Mel
