Guest guest
Ann, I experience hair loss too, I too am on Imuran and pred. You may want to check and see if you need to supplement a vitamin or something to lessen the hair loss. I know it's depressing because I used to have thick hair and have to have it thinned also. Now I shed like a my cat! Now I know how my husband feels about his hair line (He doesn't worry about gray hair, he says if it comes in pink he's taking it!) I have been using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner to slow down the loss and it seems to help! Good luck and don't let it get you down! Guest guest
Hi , No I'm only on prednisone. They just put me on that. They are still doing test to see what all this has affected. Seems I've had it for a few years and have had quite a few things going wrong with me. At 7:45 AM I have an appointment for them to do a scope test on my bronchial passages. I forgot what they called it. today isn't one of my best days. They are going to call me back later today to tell me what I have to do to prepare for it. I'm am so down lately. I have been crying over nothing all day. I'm having trouble getting my hubby to under stand this disease. Of course I don't understand it myself. I guess he's in denial. They can give me something and it will go away. Its really harder on him than some we have been best friends since child- hood. We were only 10 & 11 years old when we met. He was my older brothers friend. I was his sisters friend. So we go back along ways. Well I have vented long enough. Thanks for listening. Guest guest
Thanks Patty, I'll try the Nioxin Shampoo. I have to call my Dr. to see if he took a thyroid test when he had all that blood work done. I just had my Synthroid adjusted but that was before the prednisone. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Ann RE: Hair loss Ann, I experience hair loss too, I too am on Imuran and pred. Guest guest
Imuran causes hair loss for me. I am going thru this right now. It only occurs for a few months when you first start the drug I think. This is the second time for me. I was on CellCept for about 8 months, recently went back on the Imuran. I am hoping it will subside after a few months like it did the last time. Marilyn R.

Guest guest
Ann: I had hair loss too. When I had it the first time it was before any treatment and my fell out in patches about the size of quarters all over my head. It grew back. Not quite as full as before. My hair fell out again after I was on prednisone, Methotrexate and Enbril. That time the hair loss was different. It fell out in large amounts all over really thinning my hair. It fell out by the handfuls. I just cut it off and then it started growing back again. Now it is growing back and I'm not shedding any more. Hair loss really pissed me off. Now I'm using extensions and it is much better than a wig. I use the kind that is bonded with my own hair with glue. I had the kind that is attached to your hair that is braided and it itched too much. Donna from CA

Guest guest
I haven't experienced hair loss, but definitely thinning of hair. But that started long before the Imuran. Probably with the Pred. and it sure hasn't gotten any better. I guess we all react differently to different drugs. W >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Imuran causes hair loss for me. I am going thru this right now. Guest guest
I went through this stage about 3 months ago and I did color my hair and everything was fine. I also noticed that when I started to eat more protein the hair stopped falling out.

Guest guest
I was so afraid of ending up with no hair. .. I kept eating and drinking protein.. Didn't happend I didn't loose any hair. Thanks God. It usually happens to people that are not careful with the diet. You need to take your proteins and viatamins. I'm trying to recall the extra vitamin I took.. If I can find the bottle somewhere in my room, I'll posted.. Oh, Oh, BIOTIN??? or BIOCTIN...It really works.... try it. Just go to a discount store, they should have it... The Gastric bypass surgeon told me about it. -- In Gastric_Bypass_Family , " Pat Keller " <pbkeller@b...> wrote: > I have a class reunion coming up May 8, 5 months post-op.
