Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure how far my genio went, the surgeon never told me and I never thought to ask. I've always been very self conscious about how crooked my chin was, so I guess I'm just overly worried that this surgery won't have helped anything. However, my teeth actually fit together now which is very exciting! I'm incredibly happy with that part of the surgery. I'm already dreaming of biting into a sandwich and not having the lettuce fall into my lap =) When is your sugery? And how soon are you going back to work afterwards? Hopefully you won't have to go all bruised up.. although it is always amusing to watch the people stare with their huge eyes, wondering what kind of terrible accident you were just in. I looked like that over halloween, I didn't even need a costume! Lea > > > > It is now one month after my surgery (lower/genio). Guest guest
I don't get to see my surgeon again for another 4 weeks now, so hopefully by then the swelling will be gone and I'll be able to tell for sure if my chin is off. It will be a sad day if that's the case, but I guess it's still a lot better than it used to be! I did have to remove my nose stud for the surgery, so they could put the tubes down my nose.. then the next day when I tried to put it back in, I was too swollen and it refused to go through =( It closed in very shortly afterwards. I quite enjoyed having that piercing and am considering getting it redone. I did check out your pictures earlier, and your profile looks good, but I can also see why you'd want more advancement. I really hope this second surgery works out for you, it sounds like you've been through a lot! You'll have to keep us posted. =) Lea > I had lower advancement/genioplasty ten years ago, so I've > " been there, done that " and since my case of chin recessiveness > was so severe I am having another genioplasty on Dec 1. Guest guest
I hear that I will meet with the surgeon soon so I guess It will be coming up, although I'm not sure...Given December is next week I'm a bit " dont worry be happy " as I love Christmas and wouldn't want to be having surgery immediatly beforehand. Anyway I have one of the worlds best surgeons doing everything so I am pretty relaxed. If I look like a train wreck when I get back to work I will just stare every one down. I just think that they can't kill me so who cares for their opinion anyway We all live so long we may as well do what we want. Sorry I took so long to reply, I think I will be a more frequent poster soon as things get closer. My guess is January now - the date I am thinking, perhaps the 15th. I'm actually looking forward to it now. No real fear at any rate. More anticiation, like a holiday that you can't quite see yet until the plane lands. > > > > > > It is now one month after my surgery (lower/genio).
