Now I'm no expert but you are looking nicely symmetrical. Its

impossible to say if it has shifted, you would probably need xrays

taken I'd say but at this point I would hope that your fears are

just you worrying too much. I'm sure your surgeon can tell you at

your next appointment. I am hving genio done when I have my surgery.

How far forward did yours go? I am looking at the measurements my

surgeon made at my first appointment a year ago and it looks like

about 3mm or so. I have no idea about left or right though...You're

revcovery looks pretty increadable as you were pretty badly bruised.

I am hoping I don't have to go back to work like that!

I had lower advancement/genioplasty ten years ago, so I've

" been there, done that " and since my case of chin recessiveness

was so severe I am having another genioplasty on Dec 1. I see

what you mean about the asymetrical look. I would certainly

hope it is just a swell/healing issue, but if it continues to look that

way, obviously you need to talk to your surgeon about it.

On a much lighter subject..... did you abandon your nose stud

after the surgery? I know from experience that any jewelry has to

be removed for surgery, but it looked really nice on you.

Anyway, I suppose it is possible that a genioplasty could shift if a

plate or wire didn't stay put. I'll be having a " sliding drawer "

genioplasty which is an alternative type of cut that allows for

larger advancements but would also be virtually impossible to

shift one side to the other. Check out my photo album called

" bad post op profile " , that's my profile after having lower

advancement and genioplasty.... so I have a ways to go yet.

Lea, Look at my photos, carefully. Under " off center chin " .

It turns out that i WAS assymetrical BEFORE surgery and my surgery

accentuated the condition. the post pictures prove how off i look,

though it shows up more in pix than in person. i am probably going

to have an implant put in next summer to balance it off.
