Guest guest
Hi . This is such a nerve-wracking process. I am 6 months into my ortho. treatment and my surgery will be sometime next year (at this point, lower advancement and possibly chin work). I consulted with a new oral surgeon yesterday and he said that they would take care of all the insurance stuff (I have BC/BS of Michigan) and then if they decide not to cover it or whatever then I'd have to work something out. Price was never discussed because I think he is waiting to hear from insurance to let me know. Hope that helps. I'm not sure what state you live in, but the oral surgeon told me that Blue Cross is usually pretty good with paying for this surgery. > > Hi everyone, > I had a few questions that I was wondering if anyone could answer. Guest guest
Thanks so much ! I have BC/BS of GA. If for some reason, (more probable than not), they WON'T pay for it, do most OS allow financing? I am absolutely determined to get this done one way or another I also need chin work done too....I have always hated my pointy chin and would LOVE to get rid of it!!! Take care > > > > Hi everyone, > > I had a few questions that I was wondering if anyone could answer. > I > > apologize if these have already been addressed elsewhere. Guest guest
The first thing I learned with my insurance co. was whatever the codes used by the OS, DO NOT USE ANY RELATED TO TMJ!!! Luckily my OS office and I talked about this, and since what I have is not TMJ (although my ins. co. would have thought it was cause I had pain and clicking), they knew what to bill it as to get around it. Just make it TOTALLY clear to the OS that TMJ is NOT an option. If you undergo orthodontic work prior to jaw surgery, it is clearly NOT TMJ. Ive had braces since March, so this was another plus for me. Let us know how things are going.
