Guest guest
Did they put a " splint " between your top and bottom teeth? I do have cheek problems and pain, but mostly due to the bands and the pressure of sucking everything through a straw. My OS told me to keep my teeth as tight as possible all the time, and I find myself overdoing that. When I lay down to sleep at night, my jaws also feel like they are spasming, it is so strange...like they are going in circular motions, but in opposite direction at the same time. I know it doesnt make sense, but that's what it feels like. My husband thinks Im crazy. It will be nice when I can feel whether I am dribbling down my chin again too. Guest guest
I had a splint, but no bands. The spasms are probably your muscles rebelling against their new positions. It will ease up. I carried a little pocket mirror with me the whole time I was in braces, just so I could see the lie of the land in my mouth. Invaluable for things like dribbling, bits of food on the teeth, etc. Tell your husband to try going through jaw surgery, having a splint wired in and not being able to feel his chin, nor eat his usual diet, and see how " crazy " he goes! It's crazy-making, but the good news is that most of us recover pretty well and resume our old, normal, crazy behavior. C. > > Did they put a " splint " between your top and bottom teeth?
