Only thing I can add to your discussion is that any woman (or man)

who would reject anyone because he or she is wearing braces is

probably not anyone you'd want a long-term relationship with.

I can remember my husband once asking me whether I'd still love him

if he became bald.

I thought that was the silliest question I'd ever been asked. What I

loved was his soul and his heart and his brain -- not his head of

hair!

Thanks for the replys Cammy and , I agree with both of you. It's

just at 22, I feel ready for a more serious relationship, as silly as

that may sound, and the whole first impression thing. I am sure it

isn't that big a deal. I guess when I start my new job in January, I

should start inquiring about the surgery, and get the braces taken

care of ASAP. Thanks to both of you for the responses.

One more thought: While I'm not suggesting that this is something I

know a lot about, you say:

I don't have one. My first husband was 24 years my elder. My second

is seven.

But have you ever seen " The Graduate " ? Heard Simon and

Garfunkel's " Mrs. " ?

These things can be very, um, " plastic. "

attractive, talented and bright as Anne Bancroft at any point in her

career! c. (not really fighting, just trying to expand the

appreciations.)
