I have attended two different info sessions and met with a surgeon

from another office. I feel very comfortable with all the doctor's

that I have researched and have spoken to several patients who have

had surgery by all of them, every one of them feel THEIR doctor was

the best. And why not, their surgeon gave them their quality of life

back so of course there would be personal bias. Many on here do the

same thing. I have noticed that some surgeons glamorize the surgery

with lots of before and after pics and testimonials while others are

very upfront about the risks involved, personal commitment and

permanent lifestyle changes. I will continue to do my research and

speak to those who have done the surgery but in the end, my decision

will be based on my " gut feeling " (no pun intended) about the doctor,

his staff and the care at the hospital. Then I'll have faith in my

decision. Unfortunatly, many of us have some limitations with

insurance, distance or family commitments to travel a great distance.

Open vs. Lap is not an issue with me as the end result will be the

same and my life will improve from the surgery regardless of how it

is performed. As far as scars go, I figure I'll have far worse scars

from a lower body lift when I reach goal LOL. So the debate carries

on about which surgery style has more risk and recovery time, but

that is why I joined this group in the first place to get all the

info out there and filter it as I choose.

Thanks to the group for sharing your knowledge and experiences...
