I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE GAINING IT ALL BACK, I HAVE HEARD OF SOME THAT

GAINED SOME BACK AFTER GOING ON BINGES OF JUNK FOOD THOUGH. IF YOU EAT ALOT OF

SMALL PORTIONS OF JUNK FOOD, CAKES, COOKIES AND THE LIKE THAN YES YOU WILL

GAIN SOMETHING FROM IT. THIS IS JUST A TOOL, A GREAT ONE, BUT WE CANNOT ABUSE

IT.

GOOD LUCK.

I personally know three people who gained all their weight back and MORE.

However, all three had their surgery in the 80s and had 'stomach stapling'.

My surgeon says it is VERY possible. This surgery is only a TOOL to lose

weight, not the cureall. Your success depends on how well you make use of the

tool (surgery).

I'm just wondering....not planning to! Does anyone know if it's

possible to gain all the weight back after RNY?

My exboss did! She lost every pound and then within 1 year put it ALL

back on. This was 20 years ago when they did not know as much as we

do now. But if you over eat you can stretch your pouch out again.

I don't think we should even compare the surgery's of 20 years ago

with the types of wls we have available today. Rny is now

considered the 'gold standard' and more successful than other

types. Of course, it is a 'tool' and we have to make sure we stick

to the rules of the pouch. I go to a wls support group near where I

live once or twice a month and there has been a couple people that

started to gain a few pounds and they 'backed-up' their diets.

Basically they went back to eating what they were allowed to right

after surgery and then carefully added more foods. They made a big

difference for them. I just hope I never have to do that!!!

Good luck,
