Guest guest
Congratulations ! What a relief it must be. And, I'm glad to hear you're happy with the results. Your posts have been helpful to me (as a fellow Cigna-insured patient). Good luck to you. > > What a long & interesting journey this has been. Guest guest
Hey , I can totally relate to the torture feeling, mine were removed last Tuesday and I was crying when they did all of that scraping. Especially my bottom teeth have become very sensitive since the surgery. Do you still see a bit of the glue on your teeth? I definately need a good teeth cleaning and some more polishing (which I'm scheduled to have next week). I agree, it's been worth it, although I am one of the lucky ones to have the whole process over with in exactly 6 months (surgery & braces). What kind of retainer do you have? I have the removable hawley's (both up and down), got them yesterday. I still have to get used to it with talking, but I've had an expander in for 3 months, so the feeling is not " new " for me. Good luck with your new smile! Nathalie > > What a long & interesting journey this has been. Finally after 20 > months of surgery & braces, they are gone. Guest guest
Hi Nat, How you are lucky you had everything done in 6 months! That is so great. Did you post a picture? I want to see. I also have the regular Hawley retainers. I had them when I was a kid, so I am use to them. To be honest, I hate wearing them because with them in, you can't see the amazing results. The retainers just take away from the visual final result. I was told to wear them 24/7 for the first 6 months and then just to sleep after that. I have a few big social events in the coming weeks and I asked if it would be ok to not wear them, ortho told me no prob, just as long as I put them in when I get home. > > > > What a long & interesting journey this has been. Guest guest
I've been meaning to post pictures but just haven't gotten around to it. I have a lot of them, been shooting since day one. I'll try to get at least a few up tomorrow on site 2. I have to wear my retainer for sure, because you can understand if you can do big movements in only 6 months, that my teeth move really quickly. I have the feeling though that the wire of the upper retainer doesn't fit well enough, is yours really tight around your front teeth? I have another appt with my ortho next week, I hope he can make adjustments on the retainer (is that even possible?). Nathalie > > > > > > What a long & interesting journey this has been.
