Just want to echo the previous reply. This was an backup option for

me if the RNY could not be performed due to mass. Luckily, all went

well and I got the RNY w/chole (gall bladder removal). The DSBPD

surgery mentioned I understand has some fairly significant side

effects (constant gas, bloating, diahrea, etc...) I opted for the

gall bladder removal at the same time, there was no way that I

wanted to have the gall bladder remain with the known complications

post RNY.

32 days post open RNY -50lbs!

Just want to echo the previous reply. This was an backup option for

me if the RNY could not be performed due to mass. Luckily, all went

My PCP told me about a woman who had this procedure done and said

she had the most foul smelling gas you could ever imagine and it was

frequent. She was nauseus and miserable.

That's all I know about it but it makes me glad I had the RNY!
