Carol,

You might want to contact a pharmacist about breaking up the

Prozac. I think it's okay but ya never know. Try taking both tablets at

once. If that doesn't work talk with the doctor. The unfortunate thing

of antidepressants is that is experiment, experiment, experiment. It may

take a while to get it right. I am wondering if your doctor is thinking

that you are not getting enough and that is why he is doubling it. It

may not really matter whether you take them together or several hours

apart. Does that make sense?

Virtually all capsules will either melt or dissolve in the gastric

pouch. There does not seem to be any advantage to breaking it open.

Hey Carol,

I'm on 60 Prozac and 75 Wellbutrin in the morning, and another 75 Wellb

at night. I haven't had any problems other than the Wellb is time

release so I have two a day instead of one.

All the Prozac I've ever seen is in capsule form, and you can't really

" break " those as they are powder inside... Anyway, your mileage may

vary, but my experience with taking it once a day has been good :)

Actually, it's not unusual to take Wellbutrin twice a day. I take

Wellbutrin twice a day and don't malabsorb. I know my psychiatrist told

me why he did this. Something about keeping the levels a little more

leve or something.
