Guest guest
Dawn...best of luck to you!!! Post when possible! sherri My surgery tomorrow...March 5th Well group,. I have been here reading posts for the last 3 months...My surgery is tomorrow morning...I am so excited and nervous at the same time...I seemed to have the easiest time through the whole process...I submitted my paperwork in Feb last year, got called for first appointment in Sept.(but could not go until Dec 1, as i had started a new job) got all 4 of my appointments in in the month of December: the nurse (which was a 4 hr appointment) and Head of Bariatric, the Psych appointment , nutritionist and by the middle of January had my date and the meeting with the surgeon...They wanted to give me an appointment in Feb, but i am a trainer and was in the middle of a training session which was running for 8 weeks (I am a Operations Manager/Trainer of Coldwell Banker Atlantic Realty). So my appointment was scheduled for March 5th...Dang that is tomorrow... Since last Friday, my whole family has been sick, oldest Daughter started it darnit!!, then husband got strep ..and i have been pumping in the antibiotics.....Percautionary...lololol I met with my primary care physician last week for a quickie appointment, just to make sure my chart was changed to reflect my surgery...for any upcoming appointments ..Just in case...i wanted my chart to say...no controlled release...etc... so she was more than willing to call in a perscription for me... Husband will be taking me to my appointment in the morning...He is a wonderful guy...We have talked quite a bit the last month or so...He has never known me any other size..we just had or 8 yr anniversary yesterday....He is quite a boob Man...I asked him....what are you going to do when the only thing left is the Nip...He informed me that, that was his favorite part!!!...LOLOL He really is wonderful.. My daughters keeps telling me...Dont get skinner than us...lololol ..i explained that this is not a get skinny issue..it is a get healthy issue...I have had 8 surgeries to correct foot bone problems and still it makes it hard to walk the mall..or to go places where you need to walk for any length of time..the last 2 operations became very infected and i had to have IV therapy at the hospital for 4 weeks...and i have been informed that i cannot have anymore surgery...so the weight needs to come off........as walking any length of time has become an issue. My mother is diabetic, has high blood pressure..and recently had a stroke...and of course i have grown up to be my mom..lolol...No diabeties or high blood pressure yet...but if i dont do something now...wow....watch out....I have all my mothers other traits....lolololo (Isnt it true, we grow up to be our parents...) I am 6ft tall and have weighted around 280-300 since i had my children 17 years ago...even in my teens i weight over 200 lbs... 302 has been my highest weight... My mother has bypass surgery along with one of my best friends 16 yrs ago..They both lost 50-60 lbs in the beginning and then they both put all of their weight back on... Then there was not support: nutritionist, psyc appointments , on going support with groups like this one...It has really be wonderful to be able to read other peoples stories about how things went for them...I signed up for 4 or 5 groups right after i fininshed my last appointment so i feel like i have been exposed to an enormous amount of information which has been so helpful...I guess i just wanted to post to let you all know how wonderful it is to have a place like this to come and learn and be able to ask questions if you need to...sometimes it is difficult to ask questions to someone face to face and this is an excellent forum for that... Well, wish me luck...sorry to ramble on...grin Dawn 6ft, 289 preop Cape Cod , MA dawn6ft@...

Guest guest
IM so happy for you! That is great, sounds like your ready. I wish you luck, and send you my prayers. I believe you will be okay because God is on your side. Its kind of funny because you have your surgery tomorrow, and I go to see my doctor for the first time tomorrow also. I don't know how soon he will give me my surgery date, but I hope it is as fast as yours was. Good luck! And bestest wishes! h
