Guest guest
Tracey, you are lucky that you'll not have to wait 10 or 15 years. Please take the wait in stride and do those other things that you were talking about. The wls will come in its own time, and this way you will surely be prepared for it. It took about a year and a half for me to go through the preparations and red tape, and it did not seem too long. Hang in there, it will happen! Happy thoughts and hope for the abillity to wait gracefully are coming your way. J. mankato, MN RNY 12/

Guest guest
well i got my approval about 3 weeks ago but due to the way the dr is dealing with medicaid in our state i will be waiting awhile! she is the only on in our area and they have decided that they will see the medicaid/caresource patients only in a local clinic instead of their office and they only see 4 every 4 to 6 weeks. then they said that because of the way that they are doing it they had to send approvals back to medicaid and have the name and address changed on the paperwork and that is what is holding up scheduling the surgery.so then by the time the paperwork comes back it will be fall before i have a date. i know its not THAT far away but it is very frustrating. i dont wait well and it really freaking my DH out lol i tried to explain to him that at least this way i could go on the mini vacation with my sister that i planned in may, i would be able to be with the kids this summer and that i could get all the school shopping done and kids back to school so that at least 2 of them would go off to school everyday during my recovery lol so i guess it has its advantages. UNLESS they would call me earlier! its this not knowing when even though i have been approved that is making me crazy lol! i started this process with this dr in oct of 03 then paperwork got lost at the state level and had to be resubmitted, now this. they say that the wait for medicaid is 10-15 yrs on the west and east coasts so i should concider myself lucky that i am getting it this soon. so i will try to resign myself to the positives of being put off!!!
