Guest guest
I have heard of it happening before, in that others have strong gag reflexes, but they managed somehow (I think poofmama and irishsmiles were two vets who had difficulties). It's part of the process, unfortunately. I don't have that kind of problem. I did notice, though, that when my ortho took impressions, he had me lean forward a bit, perhaps that is a technique that might help, rather than having you lay back in the chair. Could be worth asking about. > > Hi All: > > I went to the OS today and had a really scary experience. The OS > assistant was instructed by the OS to do upper and lower > impressions. Guest guest
Oh yes i didnt have such and awful experience as you but my OS was HORRIBLE at doing impressions. First of all he was pretty peeved that my ortho. hadnt sent them , bc they ussually do. And then it was like I was the first patient he had ever done one too. Him and his assistant sat there reading the directions on how to make the clay or whatever it is they use, it for like five minutes and so by time they had put it in my mouth i was pretty terrified. The consistency just seemed so off and it took FOREVER for it to set, and then he had such a hard time pulling it off i was surprised it stayed in one peice! Now mind you I consider myself the queen of impressions bc i have done so many and with such ease but this was a whole new experiece for me. But I am thankful that it went better than yours sorry you had to go through that!! > > > > Hi All: > > > > I went to the OS today and had a really scary experience.
