Thinking of you Sue, Congratulations on your success! You will be a great

guest for Oprah.

I have a question for you and any other super losers who might care to

respond.

Did you obtain any individualized follow-up care after your surgery?

After surgery most of us are provided with 'membership' in a support group

(usually a fairly large one, and usually tied to our particular surgeon's

practice. It's rarely adequate for people's needs.

Sometimes the services of an overworked nutritionist are available

individually(initially) and most people stay individually connected to their

primary physician.

I'm curious about those people who 'create' additional, INDIVIDUAL support

mechanisms to help them make the transition out of morbid obesity and into

health. It might have been psychotherapy or a motivational coach or a

physical trainer....whatever it was I'd love to hear a little about it if you

credit that support for some of your success.

As many of you know I have developed a special CBT aftercare program here in

Philly and I'm a big fan of more individualized support for Bariatric surgery

patients. I truly believe that patients who are fortunate enough to have

this type of follow up, lose better during the first 18 months, and maintain

those losses more successfully over the long term than people who have only a

large group.

I'd love to know how some of you 'created' something more individual and what

it was. If you are willing to be quoted please let me know that as well.

Thanks.
