I am two and half months postop now but I've been hearing about Blue

Cross (my insurance co.) dropping wls too. In fact, I went to wls

support group meeting where some of the people were talking about

how their doctors were pushing harder on them to lose weight

compared to their nutrionists. The doctors wanted them to keep

calories at a minimum so they'd lose at least 5 pounds a week but

the nutrionists were telling them to gradually increase their

calories to around 800 calories so they would have better

nutrition. The nutrionists were saying we should be happy to lose 2-

4 lbs a week and we are making progress with any loss, better to

lose it safely, etc. Anyways, a couple people at the meeting said

that their doctors were worried about the insurance companies

cancelling the coverage and then that would cut back dramatically on

the drs income, etc. Scary, huh.

If anyone finds out more about the ins. companies dropping wls

please post it.

Thanks,

Bridget Northam
