Guest guest
I've promised to provide reports on the progress of my genioplasty surgery of Dec 1. My advancement was very significant being somewhere around 15mm, or about 2 to 3 times more advancement than typical, standard technique genioplasties. I'm very pleased with my profile, after going through orthodontics as a teenager, orthodontics with manidublar advancement and a genioplasty when I was in my late 20's and still having a very weak profile, I'm so happy that I finally have what I dreamed of. My swelling is down considerably and I've been able to return to fairly normal eating, although I still don't want to bite into anything. It's the large incision area and sore lip that has restricted my eating which at first was just like when I had my jaw surgery. If anyone is considering genioplasty either as a stand alone procedure or in conjunction with jaw surgery, I just want you to know that if you have a very severe recessive chin there are surgeons out there who will give you full correction, not just a modest improvement and then tell you how " wonderful you look " , when you look in the mirror and wonder if they even did anything. In addition, if you were like me and have had jaw advancement/genioplasty and still have a weak chin, if you're well healed up, you can have a secondary genioplasty and have the look you desire. I will gladly answer questions. I will post pics soon.
