Well friends,

I haven't posted for a while but I monitor faithfully almost daily.

Sometimes I get so behind in everyday things that I don't read everything

until a lot later but at least I eventually get to it all and I am really

interested in seeing how so many of you have jumped on the protein fasting

bandwagon. LOL.

Last summer I was shocked to see my weight start creeping up too. I had

gained 15 pounds and I was devastated. I decided to go on a protein fast and

asked for input from the group. Some of you were supportive of the idea and

some were not. Long story short. I did not go on the protein fast. My

current job ended and I went home to Phx. The change of scene, my attitude

and the relief of being home and out of a bad (fast getting worse) situation

gave me the incentive I needed at the time to cut out all the bad food habits

I had slipped back into and get back to basics. It worked and I lost 12 of

those 15 pounds in 2 weeks. But.....................

I am back up 10 of those pounds now, (since Christmas) in a new job that

I am not very happy with, my attitude stinks, etc., etc.

I am late getting started but I am joining the 3 day protein fast too.

I need to finish this journey that seems to have taken a lengthy detour.

After 3 1/2 years I have still not reached my goal. I am very happy to have

lost the 120 pounds (+15-12=123) that I have but I really need to loose the

last 40 pounds to get to my original goal and be the person I started out to

be. At 5' tall I am still considered overweight at 170 pounds.

I had my cup of coffee this morning. (I have just one cup a day.) So

here goes. The rest of the day and the next 2 days will tell if I have what

it takes to get my xxxx together!

Gettin back in tha groove, (does this date me? LOL)

Janet,

I too have gained about 11 lbs (gained another just last week!) since my surgery

almost 2 years ago. I have decided just to go back to what worked initially,

and that is, pretty much only a protein drink (about a quart throughout the

morning, and it is a LONG morning for me; I am up at about 4 am), a sensible,

protein filled lunch or a salad, an afternoon snack consisting of some sort of

protein, and a reasonable dinner. And exercise! Best of luck to you!! We know

what to do, and I believe we can do just that!
